Aquatics

Swimming at the Y is about building the whole person and developing healthy habits that last a lifetime.

The Y offers a wide range of swimming options for the whole family, including swim lessons for everyone from infants to adults, water aerobics exercise classes, and competitive swim team. You’ll also find traditional open swim and lap swim times available. At the Y, swimming is positive, fun activity that builds healthy habits, family connection and even life-saving skills.

Swim Lessons

Build a Confidence with each Stroke! We help swimmers overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. YMCA youth swimming lessons are presented in a student-centered environment by well-trained instructors.

Aquatics – Swim Team

The Marlins Team uses a “progressive” age group program designed to develop a child physically, mentally and emotionally in a systematic fashion. A well-defined, long-term approach of gradually increasing degrees of commitment is essential to reach peak performance levels during a swimmer’s physiological prime. The emphasis in the early stages of participation is placed on developing technical skills and a love for the sport.

Lifeguard Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training courses are offered at the Y. During the course, you’ll learn about the duties and responsibilities of being a lifeguard. You’ll learn how to use rescue equipment and how to rescue a variety of different situations. Prior to enrollment in this course, participants must successfully complete the pre-course skills assessment. After you’re certified, apply for a job here at the Y!
