The Y is looking for volunteers in the areas of after-school fun, youth leadership, the arts and fitness. Become a Volunteer CoachThe YMCA Youth Sports program has opportunities for volunteers to lead, coach, supervise, referee games and practices in each sport. The time and effort spent will be a rewarding experience for both you and the children in the program. To become a Youth Sports Volunteer coach or assistant contact, 345-9808. Brother/Sister programBrother and Sister volunteers give time, attention and interest to kids who appreciate a little of each. Through hobbies, regional activities and other areas of fun, volunteers bring to a child’s world a genuine, caring influence and, most of all, a friend. Along the way, children in the program child develop social skills and expand their horizons. Volunteers must be 18 years and older and successfully complete a thorough screening process and training prior to placement with a child. Male volunteers are especially needed. Y’s ClubThe Y’s Club is an important part of the YMCA. All proceeds from its fundraisers go to the YMCA. The Y’s Club fundraising includes the annual corn roast in August and Christmas tree sales in November and December.
