FOUNDATIONAL FITNESS for Moms

VIRTUAL CLASS

This class helps postpartum women reconnect with their core and make it strong again. Focus on breathing techniques, posture alignment, and pelvic floor connection while incorporating low impact strength training in short circuits. You will be able to participate with your non-mobile infant.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

In Restorative Yoga, props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets are used extensively to support your body so that you can hold poses for long periods of time and eliminate unnecessary straining.

This class is recommended for those experiencing stress, recovering from illness or injury, and anyone seeking a gentle class to relax and renew.

Designed to both nurture and challenge you, Prenatal Yoga inspires trust in your birthing journey while providing an open community to discuss what you are experiencing. You’ll benefit from much needed relaxation while strengthening the muscles that support your body during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

You’ve seen the viral videos, now experience it first-hand here at the YMCA! Defy gravity and experience weightlessness. Learn to manipulate the tension provided by the bungee cords to create beautiful, floating, and flowing movements in the air. Defy gravity, take flight and experience a full body workout that’s so fun, it doesn’t seem like exercise!

KETTLEBELL BASICS

Want a way to mix up your training? Adding kettlebells introduces a new stimulus to your routine to achieve new results and push through plateaus. Kettlebell and bodyweight training allows you to explore compound movements and new ranges of motion. Each class will include a breakdown of technique for a particular kettlebell exercise, along with a heart pumping workout. Come grab a weight with a handle on it and let us shine light on the possibilities of kettlebell training!
