Brother/Sister

BROTHER/SISTER PROGRAM Making a positive difference in the life of a kid who needs it. That's the role -- and reward -- of the Brother/Sister volunteer. The Brother/Sister program creates a unique bridge connecting caring adult mentors to youth. Mentors help youth increase their self-confidence, social and communication skills, positive behaviors and and help improve relationships at home, school and within the community. Helping pay for camp The YMCA is offering kids the opportunity to earn their way to camp. The 2012 coupon book will give kids a chance to earn the dollars to help pay for their camp experiences. To participate, kids and a parent must attend a fundraising meeting on Tuesday, March 20. That will also be an ideal time to register for a camp to make sure they secure a spot.

June 11-15 Myth Bashers Camp

Just like the show, we will have a few of our own myths to bash. Join us as we create, build, test and decide whether these myths can be bashed.
Designed for campers who have completed any grade 4–8.

July 9-13 Survivor Camp

Nature lovers will enjoy the great outdoors as they develop their outdoor living skills with this exciting, hands-on specialty camp! Campers will incorporate skills involving maps, compasses, orienteering, shelter and fire building, campfire cooking and more.
Designed for campers who have completed any grade 4–8.

July 23-27 Teenxtreme Camp

This unique combination of extreme activities includes low and high ropes challenge course, geocaching, kayaking, archery and paintballing. Our goal is that the individual camper will be more resilient and responsible, build self-confidence and create friendships with a positive peer group. Designed for 12- to 13-year-olds.

July 30-Aug. 3 Wearable Art and Jewelry-making Camp

From lanyards, bracelets and necklaces to tie-dyeing, belts and purses, we’ll create wearable art from a variety of materials.
Designed for campers who have completed any grade 4–8.
