Brother/Sister

BROTHER/SISTER PROGRAM Making a positive difference in the life of a kid who needs it. That's the role -- and reward -- of the Brother/Sister volunteer. The Brother/Sister program creates a unique bridge connecting caring adult mentors to youth. Mentors help youth increase their self-confidence, social and communication skills, positive behaviors and and help improve relationships at home, school and within the community. Helping pay for camp The YMCA is offering kids the opportunity to earn their way to camp. The 2012 coupon book will give kids a chance to earn the dollars to help pay for their camp experiences. To participate, kids and a parent must attend a fundraising meeting on Tuesday, March 20. That will also be an ideal time to register for a camp to make sure they secure a spot.

Camp Patterson is a 5-day resident camp for boys and girls located on Lake Washington, 15 miles from Mankato.

Outdoor fun and learning happen through a variety of activities such as canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, crafts, archery, theater, music, games and campfire programs.

Campers enjoy healthy meals, sound sleep and physical activity every day. And our values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith are demonstrated throughout.

Qualified instructors help the campers learn and grow through activities on the lake, in the field or in the woods. The camp program brings a sense of community to everyone.

Campers depart from the YMCA on Monday at 8:00 a.m. and are returned there on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Resident camp is for campers who have completed any grade from 2nd through 6th.

Fees:
Early Bird $246 ($266 non-members)
After April 30 $256 ($276 non-members)
