Brother/Sister

BROTHER/SISTER PROGRAM Making a positive difference in the life of a kid who needs it. That's the role -- and reward -- of the Brother/Sister volunteer. The Brother/Sister program creates a unique bridge connecting caring adult mentors to youth. Mentors help youth increase their self-confidence, social and communication skills, positive behaviors and and help improve relationships at home, school and within the community. Helping pay for camp The YMCA is offering kids the opportunity to earn their way to camp. The 2012 coupon book will give kids a chance to earn the dollars to help pay for their camp experiences. To participate, kids and a parent must attend a fundraising meeting on Tuesday, March 20. That will also be an ideal time to register for a camp to make sure they secure a spot.

The Mankato Family YMCA is an authorized provider for BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, Health Partners, Medica and UCare insurance reimbursement programs. Please note that each of the insurance reimbursement programs have their own program guidelines. To find out if your health insurance plan is eligible, please contact your insurance provider.

The UCan! UCare Activity Network is a fitness program for UCare for Seniors members who belong to the Mankato Family YMCA. This program provides up to $20 monthly membership dues reduction to eligible UCare members who visit the YMCA 8 or more times during that month. This reimbursement is available both to new YMCA members and current members who enroll in the program.

To take advantage of this offer, UCare for Seniors members need to complete a participation form and show their UCare member ID card .

The $20 from UCare is credited to the member’s account two months after the month with the eight recorded visits. For example, January visits will be credited in March, February visits will be recorded in April, and so on.

BlueCross Blue Shield of Minnesota will credit $20 towards your monthly YMCA membership or a maximum of $40 for two adults. The amount of reimbursement cannot exceed your monthly membership dues. You must exercise at least 8 or 12 days in the month (depending on your policy) to receive your discount.

Look for this symbol on your BCBS identification card. If you don’t have this symbol on your card, contact BCBS for a new card with this symbol on it. You must be an active member (at least 18 years old) of fully insured group plans and individual BCBS of Minnesota plans.

Present your BCBS member ID card at the YMCA. Fill out the required form.

After your first month BCBS will verify that you have qualified and then your checking or savings account will be credited the qualifying amount the 3rd of the month.

Please contact the YMCA if you have paid for your membership in full.

Health Partners Frequent Fitness Program. Save $20.00 per month for working out! Contact HealthPartners: 1-800-883-2177 to confirm your eligibility! Must be at least 18 years old. Limited to two participants per household. Bring in your current HealthPartners medical ID card or your HealthPartners employee ID Badge and our YMCA staff will assist you in getting registered for this program. This program is for HealthPartners members with medical coverage in a participating HealthPartners plan and HealthPartners employees.

Participant is reimbursed through their monthly membership bank draft.

REMEMBER….you must exercise 12 days in the month to receive your discount!

FIT CHOICES BY MEDICA – A new way to think about health and fitness. Save $20.00 per month towards your YMCA membership for working out 8 times per month! Any Medica fully-insured member is eligible for the program. Eligibility must be verified. Monthly reimbursements will be issued two months after you meet the requirements of the program.
